Specificity and Clarity

Ensure that your goals are specific and clearly defined. Instead of setting vague objectives like “get better at playing guitar,” specify what aspect of guitar playing you want to improve, such as fingerpicking, chord changes, or soloing techniques.

Clear goals provide a roadmap for your practice sessions and make it easier to measure progress.

‘Specific is terrific!’ – a quote from a friend Jonathan B.

Reflection time. Think it through. Write your clear goals in your journal. Set a regular practice time in your calendar. I, Paul, add my practice into my daily morning rhythms. It becomes a habit like brushing teeth. Got clear goals? Practice time in your calendar? Great! Time for the next read.
