Our story begins in 2010, a friend asked Paul Gentilini to teach his daughter guitar. He said ‘yes!’
He realized what he had never realized before – I can have fun, make music and make money!
Paul founded Danby Music Lessons, based on the name of his family’s Danby neighborhood in Pineville, NC.
At first, students came to the house. Later, they realized they could make it easier for everyone:

As parents, Paul and his family knew what stress-free music lessons could do to help lighten the load. The model was born.

We grew the company by adding instructors years later… some of them have gone on to establish their own companies, some moved to Nashville and joined traveling professional rock bands. Many are still with us – and we’re SO THANKFUL for each one of them.

Quarterly assessments became a necessity for the company to ensure students were receiving quality instruction and to keep each student accountable to their instruction.
We’ve witnessed tremendous growth.
